• Mariner Services

    Experienced, Reliable, Trustworthy

We are committed to offering our customers smooth sailing and knowledge while they operate or learn to operate their vessels. While captaining or chartering up to 100-ton vessels, we are dedicated to giving our clients and their guests the utmost satisfaction while enjoying the open water!

    Captain Services

Mark is a US Coast Guard licensed captain, with an untarnished record of 12 years of cruising in the passenger vessel industry. You can have fun and enjoy your guests without worrying about your boat when Mark is at the helm.

Captain services are available for vessels up to 100-ton. Passenger vessel operators may, at times, need to address a scheduling conflict or may have a short-term need for a stand-in captain. Boat owners may wish to attend to their guests rather than vessel operations. A new boat owner may want some handling advice and direction. We can help!

    Consulting Services

Mark has owned and operated many types of boats, utilizing them for work, as well as family fun. Whether you are looking for a quick ride across the lake, a family cruiser, or a working platform, his unbiased and informed approach can assist you in finding a boat that suits your needs, saving you time and money.

At any given time, there are more than 17 million recreational boats registered to operate in the US, with over 1,000 boat builders constructing them. Given the complexities of most modern boats, a boat buyer can easily feel overwhelmed by the many choices. Research reports indicate that most boat buyers wish they would have “bought better.” The US Coast Guard, ABYC and other regulatory and standards bodies are developing new features and standards to enhance safety at a rapid pace. A little help from an experienced boater with knowledge of the regulatory environment can help increase your satisfaction with the boat you ultimately purchase.

  • Marine Surveying

    Professional, Honest, Qualified

We are dedicated to providing the absolute best value, service, and commitment to our clients. For many boat purchases, the multiple parties involved can have different and sometimes competing agendas. You need a surveyor who lets the boat tell the story of its condition and value, without bias. Mark's knowledge and integrity will provide you with an unbiased survey in the agreed-upon timeframe.

Condition & Value Survey (Pre-Purchase and Sale)

Oftentimes, insuring or financing a boat will require that a survey be performed to determine the current condition of the boat and establish the vessel’s market value. The present owner may want an assessment of the vessel's condition and market value before selling. Buyers may want an evaluation to determine if they are receiving a good value for the purchase price.

    Insurance Survey

When purchasing a new or used vessel or continuing the insurance on an aging vessel, insurance companies often require a survey to determine if the vessel is an acceptable risk and to establish its insurable value.

    Appraisal Inspection

Lenders will ask for an appraisal inspection to determine how much of the purchase price they wish to finance. Other uses, such as estate evaluations and donation values, require an appraisal inspection.

    Damage Inspection

Insurance companies will require a damage inspection to assess the extent of a damage claim and determine what corrective steps need to be taken, as well as estimating the cost of repair. Many times, the possible cause of the damage is requested.
